Family Engagement and Volunteer Opportunities

We aim to engage families and develop partnerships through which schools, families, and the community share the responsibility for the education and well-being of our children. We strive to meet the needs of North Adams families by providing access to a variety of resources, support services, and programs.

Our goals include:

  • Keep parents informed of their rights and responsibilities in their child’s education

  • Publish school newsletters

  • Make parents aware of community resources and provide assistance for families looking to access them

  • Organize and publicize a wide variety of workshops, presentations, programs, and events both within the schools and the community

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer opportunities vary with regard to time commitment and age groups of students that volunteers will work with. Opportunities can be tailored to meet all interests of all parties and can be short-term or longer-term commitments.  Even if you are only available for only a few hours a year, opportunities that are low commitment but high-impact arise all the time!  Interested individuals can fill out the form below to help us match opportunities with areas of interest and expertise.  We will reach out as matching volunteer positions become available.

If interested, please fill out this form to help us match opportunities with your areas of interest and expertise.  Approval to volunteer is contingent upon passing a CORI check and potentially a SORI check.  We will reach out to you as matching volunteer positions become available.

If you have questions about the questionnaire below or volunteering with NAPS, please email familysupports@napsk12.org.

We look forward to hearing from you to see how we can match your skills and personality in an effort to make a difference in the lives of our children. Volunteering is a fulfilling service to the community, one which can put a smile on a child’s face or make a profound difference academically.!
