Title: Third Eye
Artist Statement:
My idea of connection is to be connected to your inner self. I drew a third eye connecting to eyes with veins to symbolize a subconscious mind and a person embracing their third eye. This connection symbolizes someone coming to terms with themselves and their inner self. I also drew strings on the hands to show them connecting. My inspiration for this piece was taken from how people are able to connect with their third eye and use it to their advantage.
Most Creative use of Materials:
Artist: Madalyn Gordon
Title: Plugged In
Artist Statement:
What can environmental justice look like for Berkshire county? Recycling, composting, bringing more zero waste stores into our community. My idea of connecting is working together specifically in making our community a better, more sustainable community. Connection of culture, community and environment means a safer, more understanding, better way of living. My idea behind this is we need to remember that in order to have industrialization we need green to survive and we should do everything we can to preserve our power source. A great way for people to help is to become as low waste as possible and support small local businesses.
