NORTH ADAMS ARMORY BECOMES OFFICIAL HiSET TESTING CENTER FOR BERKSHIRE COUNTY RESIDENTS
North Adams, MA – The North Adams Armory, located at 206 Ashland Street, is now an official HiSET Testing Center, offering a convenient location for Northern Berkshire County residents to take the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET). While Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield, MA also offers testing, this new center addresses the need for greater accessibility in the region, especially for those in the Northern Berkshire area.
Individuals seeking to take the HiSET exam can now register online for testing. Currently, afternoon and evening testing options are available, with plans to expand testing days and times this spring. This expansion will include at least one weekend day per month, to increase access for local residents.
“I am excited that Northern Berkshire Adult Education can offer this opportunity to our students and others seeking to earn their high school equivalency. The support from Dr. Malkas and Mayor Macksey has laid the foundation for more equitable educational options in Northern Berkshire County,” said Dr. Annie Pecor, Director of Northern Berkshire Adult Education and North Adams Public Schools 21st Century Programming. “This new testing center is a clear example of our commitment to removing barriers to a foundational education and helping individuals achieve their goals.”
In addition to the HiSET Testing Center, Northern Berkshire Adult Education offers morning, afternoon, and evening classes, in HiSET prep, ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages) instruction, reading, writing, and math, with tutoring available. Rolling enrollment allows students to begin classes at any point throughout the year.
