Hello faculty, staff, students, and families,
On February 27th, an email from an outside source was sent to faculty, staff, students, and families outlining information about the PowerSchool breach and providing outside protections. North Adams Public Schools was not made aware of a planned communication containing this information. Given the concerns that phishing emails present, North Adams Public Schools sent out a follow-up email cautioning all recipients from opening any links or calling any telephone numbers contained in the email.
On March 6th, we received official confirmation from PowerSchool that the original email sent was, in fact, from a legitimate source and that the links and telephone numbers are safe to access. Please note, participation in outside protections offered through PowerSchool is completely voluntary.
